On the occasion of his 2022 interview with KTO, Cardinal Ambongo was questioned regarding the German synodal path which favors the ordination of women as priests. He did not strongly condemn the German synod but expressed surprise that it has taken place at a “national” level when synodality is a matter for the “universal Church.”
