Cardinal Arborelius is opposed to the ordination of women as priests. Although he hasn’t specifically addressed the issue of women deacons, he has said that while it is of the “utmost importance” to find roles for women in evangelization, “at the same time, it is important to see that there are other ways” for women to serve the Church “than ordained ministry.”
