Cardinal Arborelius surprised many of the faithful by the extent to which he implemented Traditionis Custodes. Some parishes that weekly celebrated the Holy Mass according to the vetus ordo (sometimes in the Cathedral), were no longer allowed to do so. The priests who had celebrated the traditional Mass there had to go to other churches and chapels that did not belong to the Catholic Church.
