In 2021, Cardinal Aveline signed with Cardinal Peter Turkson a global petition titled “Health of the Earth, Health of Humanity,” linking biodiversity and climate, in the run-up to COP26 climate in Glasgow and COP15 biodiversity in China. The petition was devised by 300 Catholic associations to call for a link between climate and biodiversity. However, this concern for the climate remains discreet.
