While Cardinal Goh appreciates some aspects of synodality, he lamented “subtle pressure” placed on participants at the assemblies in Rome not to raise issues that would not be welcomed by some participants during the Synod on Synodality. He has also expressed his belief that, at some level, a Synod of Bishops ought to be a meeting solely of bishops.
