Cardinal Nycz on German “Synodal Way”

Although Cardinal Nycz said he was afraid of democratization in the Catholic Church and that it “could lead the Church astray,” he implicitly supported the fact that certain controversial issues were being discussed as they have been “budding and sprouting for many decades.” He also refused to sign an open letter criticizing the synodal way as he disapproved of such a method of protest, but on the grounds that he believes bishops should deal with such matters in other ways.
